The International Energy Agency (IEA) has reported that, to meet the commitments of the Paris Agreement, it is necessary to reach 600 million units by 2050. We are far from this figure, but almost all the car factories have ambitious plans and concrete to increase its production of plug-in cars in the coming years. According to the IEA, at the end of 2015 a figure close to one million cars between electric and hybrid was reached. The latter are powered by electric and gasoline engines at the same time. Up to May 2016 in Europe, more than half a million electric passenger vehicles were registered, representing about one third of global sales. The Nissan Leaf is the world leader in sales with 300,000 units placed between 2010 and September 2017. The Renault Zoe, 100% electric, is the most sold in Europe.
