7. Who will chair the COP25?

COP25 will be chaired by Carolina Schmidt. On the day of the conference’s launch, on 04-11-2019, the Minister of the Environment said: “hosting COP25 and leading international negotiations for climate change action is proof that Chile can play in the big leagues… It is an opportunity to make environmental care a national concern in which each of us has a role to play”. Schmidt is a commercial engineer from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Previously she was Minister of the National Women’s Service and the Ministry of Education.
