Are we complying with the Paris Agreement?
This September 24, 2025, the Climate Summit 2025 will be held at the United Nations Headquarters. Convened by Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will address compliance with the Paris Agreement and the state of the fight against climate change.
We have been asking ourselves the question that headlines this article almost since we created SGK-Planet ten years ago, when the Paris Agreement was first presented. Unfortunately, the answer is that we are not complying with this important document, nothing less than the key tool for ensuring the continuity of life on Earth.
Starting in January of this year (2025), we will incorporate a section called Climate Criticism, with text, images, and graphs that analyze the failure to comply with the agreements reached at climate conferences. In the second part, we show the Consequences of global warming, which complement this idea.
Despite numerous climate conferences, Earth Summits, Protocols, and Agreements, the Earth’s temperature continues its unstoppable rise year after year, with 2024 being the hottest year on record. Science is already warning us that 2025 will surpass 2024, setting a new record of heat.
COP30 is scheduled to begin on November 10 in Belém, Brazil. It would be wise for the COP to undergo a thorough review, appropriate to current circumstances, with a view to avoiding a major climate crisis in the near future.

COP 30 will be held in 2025 in Belém, Brazil, from November 10 to 21. Three decades have passed since COP 1 in Berlin, 1995, until COP 30.
