Only ten days separate the end of COP16-Biodiversity (1-11-2024) from the beginning of COP29-Climate Change (11-11-2024).

Hopefully, the end of COP16 will not be repeated at COP 29, since the Conference on Biodiversity ended badly. That is how it should be said, without euphemisms.

COP16 was suspended due to lack of quorum for the financing of biodiversity. The media “Pagina12.com” expressed it clearly: “There was no agreement between rich countries to finance the loss of nature… a marathon session failed because delegates began to leave. There were achievements in the recognition of indigenous peoples.”

Almost simultaneously, three phenomena shook the world news, two in October: Hurricane Milton (category 5), in Florida, and the Dana phenomenon, in Valencia, Spain (the largest flood in modern times). The third, a dangerous forest fire in California that broke out this week, which “has already destroyed more than 130 homes… (07.11.2024)” DW.

What do they have nothing to do with global warming? Do you think so? Then you haven’t looked at historical temperature charts. Take some time and search Google images for some of the many temperature graphs that exist and see for yourself.

Being uninformed should not be an option for anyone. Young people glued to their video games, cell phones or football games, and adults to their movies and chatting on the networks, to say the least, do not schedule the Earth among their commitments.

Almost no one dedicates a space for our good planet.

Most people do not follow the COP, they do not even know what these three letters mean.

We all have the soles of our feet glued to this generous and unique blue globe. The least we can do is dedicate a little time and find out what is happening with our Mother Earth. If you succeed, you may even be able to join an Earth activism group.
