FAQs about Air Pollution
6. What is smog?
There are two types of smog: the industrial and the photochemical. Smog is a pollution caused by the combination of air with pollutants during a prolonged period of high pressures. This phenomenon causes the immobilization of the air and consequently its permanence in the troposphere and sometimes in the stratosphere.
Smog has harmful consequences for health, such as respiratory problems and asthma. It can also cause lung cancer.
