6. What happens when there is no wind in a wind farm?
The wind turbines start when the wind reaches a speed of three to four meters per second (about 11 to 14 kph). Its maximum efficiency is with a wind of about 13 to 14 meters per second (about 50 kph). If the wind acquires an average speed of 25 meters per second (about 90 kph) for 10 minutes, the wind turbines are automatically stopped by safety.
