Baku Olympic Stadium
Azerbaijan
The Baku Olympic Stadium is a sports venue designed by Azerbaijan to host major international events. It promotes sport, inclusion, culture and tourism. It was inaugurated in March 2015 and is currently one of the largest and most modern in the region.
The stadium has an elliptical design that represents “eternity.” Its exterior is covered with a membrane that can be illuminated, creating impressive visual effects for the different types of events that take place there.
The Baku Stadium is located in the central area of the city. It is accessed from different parts of the city, including the H. Aliyev International Airport. It is served by public transport, buses and Baku metro stations. The design of the Baku Stadium was built with ecological requirements in mind, with energy-efficient lighting and water management systems, seeking to fulfill Azerbaijan’s commitment to sustainable development.

Green Zone
The Green Zone is a space at COP29 for a diverse group of stakeholders to express themselves in an interactive, participatory and inclusive way on climate action: from the general public and private companies to media personnel, academics, youth, indigenous communities, NGOs, civil society and official representatives of the Blue Zone. Daily activities are related to the themes addressed in the COP29 Blue Zone, with the intention of connecting the themes in the two spaces. The COP29 Green Zone is located adjacent to the Blue Zone spaces and will be open to the public from 11 to 22 November.
