In these days of crisis, we are seeing images of enormous oil and natural gas extraction and storage fields ablaze, spewing thick plumes of black smoke into the atmosphere. We have also seen numerous tankers burning with millions of barrels of oil and gas, becoming instant emissions of greenhouse gases that go directly into the atmosphere, a phenomenon that environmentalists have been fighting against and raising awareness about for years.<\/p>\n

If emissions are not stopped soon, the curves on these graphs will become significantly steeper, and we could experience an unprecedented climate catastrophe.<\/p>\n

In addition to this the fact that at the recent COP30<\/a>, oil companies prevailed with their demand that fossil fuels not even be mentioned in the Conference’s final document\u2014a blatant violation of the Paris Agreement, which in turn amounts to flouting climate change regulations\u2014it opens the door to further global warming and other undesirable climate phenomena.<\/p>\n

A third factor, which many overlooked and is now rarely mentioned, concerns the regulations and permits for cutting down trees in the lungs of the world. In the early hours of Thursday, July 10, 2025, the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies approved a bill that relaxes environmental licensing regulations amidst harsh criticism from environmental organizations. In our article Decree of Death to the Trees of the Amazon<\/em><\/a> (SGK-PLANET, July 30, 2025), we explained what happened.<\/p>\n

The truth is that the three cases we mentioned are clear indicators that we are not on the right track to address the shocks our planet throws at us year after year, each time with greater duration and intensity.<\/p>\n

What is worrying is that most of the population is either unaware of these situations or doesn’t give them the importance they deserve and continues living their daily lives as if nothing were happening.<\/p>\n

Young people in particular should be the first to address these issues and act in the fight against climate change, since ultimately, they will be the ones who have to pay the price when Mother Earth finally presents it for collection.<\/p>\n
