The theme for the year 2022 is <strong>\u201cInvest in our planet\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We find ourselves with oceans and seas increasingly suffocated by plastic pollution. The followed rise in temperatures to extreme levels. Forest fires, floods, cyclones, tornadoes and other climatic events affect millions of people more intensely. Today, more than two years later, we are still facing the COVID-19 pandemic, which has led us to a global health emergency, also affecting the health of our ecosystem.<\/p>\n<p>Ecosystems support all forms of life on Earth, the health of our planet and its inhabitants directly depends on their health, so recovering them allows us to end poverty, combat climate change and avoid the mass extinction of species.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe need to build a global citizenry fluent in the concept of climate change and inspired by environmental education to act in defense of the planet.\u201d<br \/>\nKathleen Rogers.
