New Climate Criticism section of SGK-PLANET<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n

At SGK-PLANET we have been reporting for fifteen years on how Global Warming<\/strong> and Climate Change<\/strong> are dominating us instead of us dominating them. Despite the number of Climate Conferences, Earth Summits, Protocols and Climate Agreements, for now the Earth’s temperature continues its unstoppable increase year after year, with the recently concluded 2024 being the hottest year on record.<\/p>\n

We are all earthlings<\/strong><\/p>\n

Although we rarely call ourselves this way, since the term earthling is mainly used in science fiction films and novels, in which it is the aliens who call us this way to differentiate us from them.<\/p>\n

If a real invasion of aliens were to occur, our fear would be such that perhaps we would call ourselves earthlings to feel stronger and more united against an external enemy of which we would know nothing, because as we know, fear unites people and greed separates them.<\/p>\n

Climate conferences have raised public climate awareness. Fossil fuel emissions, deforestation and the destruction of biodiversity continue to advance, being the main causes of global warming.

On the graph we have highlighted the four climatic milestones<\/strong>, the backbone of the fight against global warming and its consequence, climate change:
\nStockholm 1972 (Stockholm Declaration<\/strong>). Rio 1992 (Six fundamental climate document<\/strong>s). COP3, Kyoto 1997 (Kyoto Protocol<\/strong>) and COP21, Paris 2015 (Paris Agreement<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Where are we going?<\/span>
\nShould we reform the COPs or look for other mechanisms?…<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

There is not much time left to make decisions, so it is urgent to find new methods and new solutions. The UN is the only organization capable of bringing together almost 200 nations of the world, so it remains the one called upon to initiate reforms and find new mechanisms to stabilize the temperature of the planet. None of this can wait.<\/p>\n
